Review: Forbidden Stepdaughter Desires by Ursula Istrati

From Smashwords: Sophia promised her little brother she'd come home for his birthday, but wanted to avoid her stepfather, James. He hadn't spoken to her since last summer, when things had gotten a little too heated. When James scorns her once again, Sophia decides she wants to make him suffer with desire for her. But she can't resist her own sexual needs. Will she find a way to get what she really wants from him?

My Review: I might have a new favorite erotica author. Ursula Istrati is just, well, wow. The woman knows how to write a damn sexy book. I absolutely loved her book Eternity’s Embrace and decided to try something a little more taboo from her catalog. I was not let down!

Forbidden Secrets as it’s known on Amazon is a sexy short story that gave me the taboo I wanted and walked a very fine line between forbidden and erotic. The book was error free and flowed really well. It starts off sexy and doesn’t stop the whole way through.

If you want a more taboo read, or maybe something a bit outside your comfort zone, Forbidden Stepdaughter Desires is definitely one to go with. I was salivating as I read it and couldn’t put it down. I’m definitely adding this one to my ‘reread and reread again’ pile!

Review: My Best Friend's Son by Tabitha Austin

From Amazon: What's an older gay cowboy to do when the younger grown-up son of a lifetime friend shows up on his farm looking less like the skinny kid from his memories but rather a hot and muscular young man with his own homosexual tendencies?

Sure he's legal but there's no way he can partake of the forbidden desires no matter how much he wants it, can he? Even if he does, there's a town full of people who don't take kindly to gay folk.

Should he take the risk and see where the forbidden road leads him?

This 9,900+ word story contains detailed description of gay sex and is intended for adult readers only.

Note: This is from the same universe as Riding the Ranch hand. If you want to know Jim Miller's story of temptation and turmoil, read on.

Review: Gay cowboys, one of my favorite taboos. Tabitha Austin’s My Best Friend’s Son is a great mix of reluctant romance and hot sex. This 10,000 word short was just what I was looking for when I decided to scratch my itch for some m/m erotica.

The story starts out with a really good dose of backstory. Jim’s backstory is alluded to, hinted at, and teased quite well by the author and gives us, the reader, just enough information to know why the older cowboy has spent his years alone on a farm. With Todd comes to work for him the sparks fly instantly. Jim and Todd (the best gay cowboy names ever!) hit it off, but Jim is fearful of scaring the younger cowboy off. Thankfully, he’s just as interested in his new boss.

My Best Friend’s Son was a really nice mix of romantic tension and steamy sex. It wasn’t simply guy meets guy and they do it. The buildup made the eventual sex so much hotter. Tabitha makes the reader want it just as much as Jim and the payoff is so worth it. Well written and hot, this one gets a big recommendation from me!

Review: Eternity's Embrace by Ursula Istrati

From Amazon: This steamy 20,000+ word vampire book brings together three parts of the Eternity's Embrace series, with the following short stories: Discovered, Stolen, and Reclaimed.

Review: I won’t deny that I read the Twilight series. I won’t deny that I enjoyed the Twilight series, for what it was at least. I also won’t deny that I wanted more out of that series. Something that actually made me believe that Edward and Bella were that in love. I never got why he loved her, or vice versa. As much as I enjoyed it when I read it, it did put my off vampire romance books.

That said, I loved Eternity’s Embrace. It’s my first vampire book in a long time and am I very glad I gave it a chance. Ursula Istrati has crafted a sexy, seductive tale of a vampire and his star-crossed lover. The best part? It’s believable! I can see why these two love each other, why they long for each other. And the sex? H-O-T! Beautifully descriptive, passionate, and damn sexy.

Originally the books in this completed novella, Discovered, Stolen, and Reclaimed, were put out as individuals and each make for an enjoyable read on their own. Eternity’s Embrace makes for a sexy, seductive tale and I couldn’t put it down. Wonderfully written and highly recommended!

Review - The Anniversary by Amelia Moore

From Amazon: Every year on our anniversary my husband, Liam, does something extra special to show how much he cares about me, and it’s always something naughty. After six years of raising the bar I can’t wait to find out what he has planned for our seventh anniversary. He knows all about my fantasy to share him with another woman, but he’s already turned down the perfect opportunity once. Maybe someday he’ll be ready for the adventure. Maybe tonight’s the night. Anything can happen.

“The Anniversary” is an interactive e-book. At key moments in the story you will be able to choose what the characters do next. Take control and decide how you want the adventure to unfold.

When I was a child many of my favorite books were Choose Your Own Adventure stories. I loved having options and deciding how I wanted the story to go. It was a fun way to read a book that got me reading as a kid. As an adult I went into reading The Anniversary with some caution. Not that I didn’t like the premise, but Choose Your Own Adventure does have a stigma of being childish attached to it.

That said, The Anniversary is anything but childish. The story is romantic yet still packs a lot of sexiness in the story. I read through choosing one path the first time, then the other the second to get the full story. I think it says a lot about me that my first choices were all the more voyeur options! Any way you read it the story is HOT, but never loses the romantic aspect that really makes the story special.

The Anniversary was a great read and you get a few reads out of it which makes it a steal at $2.99. My only issue is a couple of grammar notes, but it’s nothing that takes away from the story and comes down to personal preference. I’d recommend this short to anyone who loves romantic erotica, threesomes, and wants something unique to read. Overall an excellent short.
