Cover Reveal: Lay Me Bare Book One

Finally, after months of working and waiting I have the cover for the first part of the Lay Me Bare series. Part One is almost finished being edited and will be available this week! My Review: Cristina is a sexy young woman who’s moved to the UK to live with her British boyfriend, Gavin. The two have a seriously kinky love for screwing outside and have bought a house in the English countryside for that purpose. Unfortunately, one of their neighbours is a perv with a telescope and Cristina wants her freedom. She’s willing to do anything to get her privacy. Anything.

This book comes packed with three hot sex scenes, each one a little different. The first two were fun and a little unexpected, but for me the final scene was the hottest. I love books where the sex is that unexpected and that, well, I do enjoy some dominance/submission play! Cristina has eyes for not just her boyfriend, the girl is seriously kinky!

There is a lot of British speak in this book and despite my own background a few times I went ‘wait, what?’ The slang might be a little heavy, but the story doesn’t get lost in it. Overall it’s fun, kinky, and an enjoyable read. A great start for people who are into voyeurism!

Lay Me Bare Update

Hey readers! I've got some exciting news for you. With a lot of soul searching and examining the book markets and so on, I've decided the best thing I can do with Lay Me Bare is publish it as a series of novellas. I don't necessarily want to break it up, but with how busy I've been there is no way I'll get it done, as a whole, until spring or later. If I concentrate on it in chunks I can have parts of it out, hopefully once a month, so people won't be waiting forever. I really hope to have part one out late this week or early next week. I'll post here when it has a cover. Hopefully you'll enjoy reading it and hopefully I can stick to my schedule.

Again, I'm really, really sorry for the delays on this book. Writing is hard!

Review: Gay cowboys, one of my favorite taboos. Tabitha Austin’s My Best Friend’s Son is a great mix of reluctant romance and hot sex. This 10,000 word short was just what I was looking for when I decided to scratch my itch for some m/m erotica.

The story starts out with a really good dose of backstory. Jim’s backstory is alluded to, hinted at, and teased quite well by the author and gives us, the reader, just enough information to know why the older cowboy has spent his years alone on a farm. With Todd comes to work for him the sparks fly instantly. Jim and Todd (the best gay cowboy names ever!) hit it off, but Jim is fearful of scaring the younger cowboy off. Thankfully, he’s just as interested in his new boss.

My Best Friend’s Son was a really nice mix of romantic tension and steamy sex. It wasn’t simply guy meets guy and they do it. The buildup made the eventual sex so much hotter. Tabitha makes the reader want it just as much as Jim and the payoff is so worth it. Well written and hot, this one gets a big recommendation from me!

Review: Eternity's Embrace by Ursula Istrati

Review: I won’t deny that I read the Twilight series. I won’t deny that I enjoyed the Twilight series, for what it was at least. I also won’t deny that I wanted more out of that series. Something that actually made me believe that Edward and Bella were that in love. I never got why he loved her, or vice versa. As much as I enjoyed it when I read it, it did put my off vampire romance books.

That said, I loved Eternity’s Embrace. It’s my first vampire book in a long time and am I very glad I gave it a chance. Ursula Istrati has crafted a sexy, seductive tale of a vampire and his star-crossed lover. The best part? It’s believable! I can see why these two love each other, why they long for each other. And the sex? H-O-T! Beautifully descriptive, passionate, and damn sexy.

Originally the books in this completed novella, Discovered, Stolen, and Reclaimed, were put out as individuals and each make for an enjoyable read on their own. Eternity’s Embrace makes for a sexy, seductive tale and I couldn’t put it down. Wonderfully written and highly recommended!

Review: Upgraded by John Dylena

From Amazon: Cody's situation just went from bad to worse. The deadline to pay back the money he owed the mob was quickly approaching, and with a ways to go, he tried to close the gap by gambling and at the end of the night, he walked away with less then he started with.

With no money left, his only option was to hide. Instead of meeting with the mob, he chose to put on a dress, high heels and makeup, hoping that he could pull off hiding in plain sight.

But the mob's eyes are everywhere, and Cody's night out en femme is about to be cut short. 

Futuristic and suspenseful are the two words that would best describe this gender bending tale from John Dylena. When I first checked out the book I had no idea from the description that the book was set in the future, the year 2052 from how things are described in the book, but it was a fun discovery none the less.

Upgraded creates a fascinating future world where people can change their appearance at the drop of, well, a drop. Eye color, hair, makeup, it’s all easily interchangeable with products that transform the ordinary into things of beauty. It’s easily one of the most well written pieces of erotica I’ve read to date. The world is well crafted for being just under 10,000 words and I found myself thinking the book fit more with William Gibson’s Idoru than in the erotica genre.

That’s my only gripe with Upgraded. It reads like the beginnings of a phenomenal sci-fi novel rather than an erotica short. It walks a line between the two and there isn’t as much sexuality as erotica usually contains. Part of me felt the sex was an afterthought tacked on to the end of a fantastic piece of near future sci-fi. The crossdressing is well interwoven with the futuristic descriptions, but it feels more emotional than erotic.  It’s well written and an enjoyable read, but not as hot as I’ve come to expect from Dylena’s other work.
